Setting up a new Plant Centre at Planters A21 in Hurst Green. Spring 2025.

This was an interesting and exciting project, Ben Taylor, owner of Planters Farm shop on the A21 in Hurst Green has been in ownership since the summer of 2024. Upon the sudden closure of Merriments Nursery just around the corner from Planters, Ben who has been studying horticulture at Hadlow College, made good of a bad situation and purchased stock and infrastructure from Merriments as well as recruiting many of the team. I consulted for Ben from November through to opening the Plant Centre in April 2025. The project work started in January 2025 working with David Smith Gardening and Steven Vine of Vine on the Hill Landscaping, I designed the Plant Centre, worked out production schedules and forecasted revenues, project managed the build, took on the hands on design elements and worked with Planners and Architects to ensure we were working within correct building regulations. The Plant Centre opened on schedule on the 14th April 2025 and has been very well received locally. I am now in charge of Plant Production and propagation and work at Planters A21 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week.
