4 Acre Garden - Mississippi - USA
January 2025 - I have completed a full redesign of both front and rear gardens in the deep south of America - in Starkville Mississippi. This fascinating project has opened up a whole new palette of plants which can cope with the heat and humidity of the southern summers alongside winters similar to those in East Sussex. The front garden is now planted up and is predominantly ornamental grasses planted in large swathes with flowering perennials adding splashes of colour.
The rear garden is about to be landscaped and should be planted up in Autumn 2025, it has a decked area, a natural pool, a ravine, gravel garden and a productive kitchen garden. The clients have been a joy to work with and I’m looking forward to planting it up!

Knepp Rewilded Walled Garden Tours
Once a month you’ll find me giving guided tours at Knepp Walled Garden within the Knepp Estate in West Sussex.
This is a pure passion project for me. I so enjoy learning about this new style of planting for resilience and biodiversity. Knepp is a fascinating experiment in the world of gardening with over 1000 species of plants planted into crushed concrete, clay and sand. Designed by Tom Stuart-Smith with guiance from Professor James Hitchmough, it is a privilege to guide these tours to allow Head Gardener Charlie Harpur to get on with his real job!
I get to learn a whole new method of gardening and increase my plant knowledge. If you’ve not visited then I urge you to. We’re often accompanied by Storks circling above us which just adds to the magic. Tours must be booked via Knepp.

Winston Churchills Farm
I have recently been appointed to restore the grounds of Chartwell Farm in Westerham. A 39 acre estate that was once Winston Churchills farm, next door to his home, the National Trust property Chartwell.
I have taken on the management of the estate, starting with recruiting gardeners along side redesigning and planting up the 40 plus borders on site in the Autumn of 2025.
Over the next year, I will oversee the management of the estate, creating an ongoing maintenance schedule to give the owners the peace of mind that activities are being carried out in the right way, at the right time. I will train the gardener in situ and liaise with the owners and team to ensure the garden is restored back to its former glory.
